1.Geodomes
Geodome projects and research, initiated in 2015 via a collaborative proposal to activate and connect unused land between Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (mima) and the adjacent City Library; using a multi-functional geodesic community hub/greenhouse/education and residency space. Images: Concept drawing xite architecture, single channel geodome film exhibited at MAW21, Intermedia performance(Vancouver 1970),2v Hub and strut geodome made from recycled painting stretchers (2015 – 2021).
2.Models
A series of architectural models made in response to different spatial contexts. The projects were directly informed by the geodome research and repositioned the role of the model within the building/creative process. Images: One day residency with Steelworks Project Space at Tanfield Railway, exhibition at 36 Lime Street Gallery, Newcastle and installation on the top floor of Dundas House, Middlesbrough.
3.Installations
A series of installations, conceived initially as ‘scaled up models’ made in response to galleries, project spaces and disused commercial units. In 2022 a screen printed abstract environment/stage set and series of commissioned sound performances, were used to activate a shared curatorial space in Glasgow’s Southside.
4.Print Collaborations
A series of print collaborations which will inform artists’ books made and shared through the research. Images: Risograph exhibition publication published by A-M-G5 (2022), screenprint folio made in collaboration with M.A.R.S (2022), commercial postcard/digital collage made as part of In-Place (2022- ) and Transmissions a forthcoming folio published by Hard Copy, Newcastle (2025).
